Random video chat promised instant connection and delivered a lot of blank screens, awkward silences and things you would rather not have seen. QuickTchat keeps the fun part — the randomness — and drops the camera.
Why people leave video roulette
The appeal of random video chat is real: you press a button and meet somebody unpredictable. The problems are just as real. Cameras need bandwidth, the format invites exhibitionism, real-time moderation is nearly impossible, and you have to be camera-ready to take part at all.
Many people who liked the idea stopped using video roulette because of what they were shown, not because they got bored.
What QuickTchat does instead
QuickTchat pairs you with a random member for a text conversation. Press Next when you want someone new. You can chat in bed, on a bus, or in a five-minute gap — no lighting, no background, no grooming.
The randomness is unchanged: you do not pick who you meet, and you can leave at any moment without explanation. What changes is how much of yourself you expose.
Privacy by default
Nothing about your face, voice or surroundings is transmitted. Your nickname is the only thing the other person sees, and your email is never visible. If you later want to keep talking, you can move to private messages.
For anyone who has ever had a video chat recorded or screenshotted without consent, that is not a small detail.
Accountability without the surveillance
Every account requires a verified email, messages pass through automatic moderation, and blocking and reporting are one tap away. Explicit content and harassment are prohibited.
We do not use cameras and we do not ask for identity documents to chat. Accountability comes from the community rules and the moderation team, not from watching you.
